Lionesses score a spot in the Semis

Women’s World Cup

Yesterday, England beat Norway 3 – 0! Jill Scott and Ellen White both scored in the first forty minutes, giving England a decisive lead going into the second half. Player of the Match, Lucy Bronze, sealed the victory with a 25-yard rocket in the 57th minute of the match.

In her post-game interview, Bronze chalked the win up to the resilience of the Lionesses, humbly conceding that while possession was almost 50-50 during the match “when the game’s not going in our favour we have the resilience to work hard, stay in shape, and do what we’ve been told to do by the manager.”

Phil Neville, the England manager, gave an emotional tribute after the match, saying “Lucy Bronze is the best player in the world. There’s no player like her, with that athleticism and quality.”
