Liverpool Win the Champion’s League!
A fantastic summer for British football fans
For the first time in history, the Champions League and the Europa league had four English teams in the finals!
In the Europa league, Arsenal played Chelsea. Chelsea beat the Arsenal 4 – 1 in Baku Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan.
In the semi-finals of the Champions League, Liverpool beat Barcelona. They went from 3 – 0 to 3 – 4! In another amazing semi-final, Tottenham Hotspur beat Ajax in the 96th minute of the match!
The Champions League final was in Madrid. There was a penalty after twenty-five seconds! The penalty was against Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko. That’s 1 – 0 for the Reds! Liverpool scored again in the 89th minute. This is the 6th Champions league title won by Liverpool.
Jordan Henderson, Liverpool’s captain, said: “It’s the best moment of my life, this is what I dreamed of since I was a kid.”
