Fake Fake Fur Scandal

Boohoo.com is a website that sells clothes … and they’re in trouble. The company is famous for cheap dresses, jumpers, trousers, coats, hats and scarfs. The clothes aren’t expensive, but they are very popular.

This winter, pompoms are in fashion! It’s a furry ball on a hat, or a scarf or a jumper. You can see one in the picture!

So what’s the problem? Boohoo.com are in trouble because they have a jumper with pompoms on it. They say the jumper is ‘fake fur’. But it’s a lie! Experts say the fur is real, and it’s from rabbits. People who bought the jumper are very angry! They don’t want to wear fur from rabbits.

One billion rabbits are killed every year for fur. The treatment of animals at fur farms is often terrible. In the USA, for example, there are no laws to protect animals on fur farms. Amazon, T K Maxx and Groupon are also in trouble for selling real fur as fake.
